Travis Benfaida serves as the Chief Executive Director at Legacy Healing Center. He brings a unique combination of personal experience, professional expertise, and compassionate leadership to the field of addiction recovery. As a Florida Board Certified Recovery Support Specialist, he is deeply committed to helping individuals and families break free from the cycle of substance use and build fulfilling, sober lives.

A Personal Journey of Recovery & Transformation

Travis’s dedication to addiction treatment is rooted in his own recovery journey. After suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury while playing college basketball at the University of Central Florida, he struggled with a five-year opioid addiction. In 2012, he was introduced to recovery through the South Florida treatment model, a life-changing experience that led him to embrace sobriety through faith, Alcoholics Anonymous, and unwavering perseverance.

Through hard work, determination, and a steadfast commitment to personal growth, Travis transformed his life from one of darkness and depression to gratitude, fulfillment, and purpose. As of April 2023, he celebrated eleven years of sobriety, serving as an inspiration to those navigating their own recovery journeys.

Educational & Professional Background in Public Health & Addiction Treatment

Travis earned his bachelor’s degree from the College of Public Health at Florida International University (FIU) in 2018). His education, combined with his lived experience, has equipped him with a deep understanding of addiction, treatment modalities, and the critical importance of holistic healing.

As the Chief Executive Director at Legacy Healing Center, Travis cultivates an environment of support, accountability, and empowerment. He works closely with clinical teams, treatment specialists, and recovery professionals to ensure that Legacy Healing Center provides industry-leading, evidence-based addiction treatment.
