Best for Rehab for Alcohol & Drugs for Queens Residents

When you are struggling with an addiction to drugs or alcohol, you will likely feel various emotions. One of the first feelings you will probably experience involves embarrassment. In many cases of addiction, you cannot go longer than a few hours without being completely consumed again by the thought of finishing your drug or drink of choice in the future. These types of thoughts can easily overshadow any other aspect of your life.

Additionally, you may feel incredibly depressed. You may regularly question the reasons why you are so addicted to a certain substance and feel as though you are in a bottomless pit that you can never seem to dig out. This feeling of endless unhappiness only feeds further into your addictive nature because you mistakenly trick yourself into thinking that your only true happiness comes when you are actively participating in your recovery.

Drug Rehab Centers for Queens Residents

Typically, there is a common misconception associated with drug treatment centers. Many clients who call in and speak to one of our intake specialists about treatment possibilities are under the mistaken impression that they will essentially be in a lock down unit when they come to Legacy. While this may be the case at some facilities, that is not the case at our facility. From the moment you walk through the doors, you will feel the care and concern that our staff has for your care and treatment. We treat every client like family to understand that we are just as invested in your sobriety and recovery as you.

Alcohol Rehab Centers for Queens Residents

One of the frustrating factors for any person who struggles with an addiction to alcohol is that the substance is so readily available. If you turn on your television, you will likely see an alcoholic advertisement in the span of a few minutes. If you drive down the street, you will probably notice one (if not more) liquor stores as you travel throughout your town. Without a solid plan for treatment in place, these factors could easily contribute to you continuing to maintain your addiction.

A leading factor associated with recovery is changing the people, places, and environment that contribute to your addiction. This process is what makes coming to our facility for treatment incredibly critical. When you come to our alcohol treatment center, you will see a mix of friendly and caring faces to help you work through the different aspects of your addiction. You will be surrounded by a warm and welcoming environment specifically designed to further your recovery journey.

Addiction Treatment Centers for Queens Residents

As addiction specialists, we understand that you can not have a singular approach to addiction recovery, which is why we pride ourselves on offering our clients various treatment plans. When you are beginning to develop your recovery plan with a team member, we recommend that you keep an open mind regarding your options. Although we understand that individual programs may not be a viable option based on personal or professional responsibilities, we will always do everything to adjust your plan to meet your goals.

One of the treatment options that we offer at Legacy is the Partial Hospitalization Program or PHP. Clients that enroll in this program will live on campus during a set amount of days and participate in at least 25 hours of structured treatment throughout the week.

Another treatment plan option is our Intensive Outpatient Program, also referred to as an IOP. Attendees of this program will come to our facility for nine hours each week to participate in treatment. Although this program is essentially a step down from a PHP, it still provides an abundance of benefits when you are working through the initial days and weeks of recovery.

Our Outpatient Program is specifically designed for clients who need access to recovery tools and need to maintain other work or personal related responsibilities. If you decide to participate in this form of treatment, you will come to our facility at set days and times during the week. Our team member will review your schedule at Legacy with you to ensure that it does not conflict with any other duties. If your plan needs to be adjusted, just let us know, and we will do everything that we can to cater to it.

Another essential feature that we offer at Legacy is our Family Program. We realize that addiction tends to affect not only the person struggling with the disease but also every person in that family. Our Family Program allows you to recover from your addiction and let your loved ones begin to heal in their way.

Regardless of the program you enroll in, you will actively participate in various forms of therapy. Group therapy will play a focal role in your time at Legacy. This counseling style closely follows the model of a traditional 12-step meeting in the sense that each session will be guided by a team member and touch on different topics associated with addiction and recovery. During these sessions, you will have the chance to share your views on the issues being discussed and the opportunity to listen to other group attendees’ insight.

Another important form of therapy that will be a part of your treatment plan is one-on-one counseling. Understandably, certain aspects of your life or information about your addiction may not feel worth sharing in a group setting. Individual therapy gives you the chance to speak to one of our counselors in a more personalized atmosphere. During these sessions, you can discuss how you feel you are progressing in your program and the details that may have led you down the road of addiction. In addition, you can also make any adjustments or changes to your treatment plan if needed.

How Much Does Rehab Cost?

How Does Drug Detox Work?

You should never overlook the importance of incorporating a drug detox program into your overall recovery plan. The consequences of attempting to detox from any drug by yourself are scary. Although each person may not always experience the same symptoms, it is almost impossible to avoid these symptoms’ ramifications after any prolonged drug use. The length of time that you will go through withdrawal depends on a variety of factors. These include your drug of choice and your current drug use, which is why it’s vital to be honest with our intake specialists regarding your addiction to begin to put together a proper withdrawal plan.

In most cases, you will begin to feel the effects of withdrawal within a few hours of the last time you consumed your drug of choice. For example, a client will usually feel withdrawal symptoms within 8-to-24 hours if their drug of choice is short-acting opioids. In contrast, for longer-acting opioids, it may take 2-to-4 days for withdrawal symptoms to manifest. Examples of withdrawal symptoms can include an increase in anxiety, diarrhea, as well as muscle cramps. In severe cases, a person may experience psychotic episodes that could result in depressive or suicidal thoughts.

When you come to Legacy, you will never have to face these challenges alone. You can rest assured that you will be well taken care of during these difficult days.

How Does Alcohol Detox Work?

Our alcohol detox program works much in the same way as our drug detox program. When your body has become so accustomed to drinking a certain amount of alcohol frequently and suddenly does not consume it anymore, your mind and body are sent into a tailspin. The time frame of withdrawal symptoms varies between a few hours and a few days, with symptoms progressively getting worse in the first hours and peaking within the proceeding days.

Call Legacy Healing Center 24/7 to speak with an intake specialist. Calls are completely confidential.

The majority of clients will experience mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms, including a severe headache, tremors, heart palpitations, and increased blood pressure. In some cases, however, it is possible to experience more severe symptoms, usually referred to as delirium tremens. This can result in hallucinations as well as seizures. Considering the fact that it’s unclear as to the type of symptoms you may experience, we never recommend that you attempt to detox if you are not under the care of a trained professional.

How Long Is Rehab?

Similar to our different treatment programs, we also provide our clients with several options related to the length of your stay at our facility. You have the flexibility to decide the length of your program, which can last anywhere between 30, 60, or 90 days. If you choose to start with a 30-day program, you can always opt to extend your plan if you need more time at our facility. You can ask to speak to a member of our team to adjust your treatment plan.

Does My Insurance Have Coverage for Rehab?

In recent years, private insurance companies realized the necessity of offering coverage for addiction treatment. Today, most private insurance companies will offer some form of coverage for this form of care. What exactly is covered, however, varies depending on your carrier. For instance, some insurance companies will not cover a detox program, while others will only allow coverage for many days. If you have private insurance and need help determining what you are covered for, let us know. We are always happy to help you.
